Davis & Elkins Adds Accelerated BSN Program
The new accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing program allows students to complete their degree in three years instead of four.
The addition of the program is made possible by a grant from West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice鈥檚 Nursing Workforce Expansion Program to prepare nurses to meet the future health care needs in the Mountain State.

The campus is beautiful, the nursing program is phenomenal, the teachers are great, and the nursing staff are like family. Dear prospective nursing student
Being a nurse over 20 years, I鈥檓 thrilled to see more caring and enthusiastic young people who want to help those in need, advocate for our patients, and improve the population health of our community, our country, and the whole world. Here is what awaits you in this exciting profession:
- As a nurse, you鈥檒l be trusted. According to Gallup鈥檚 annual poll, nursing has been the most trusted profession in the U.S. every year for nearly two decades.
- You鈥檒l be rewarded for your work. Based on 2017 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median national salary for RNs (with a bachelor鈥檚 degree) is $70,000.
- A bachelor鈥檚 degree opens the most possibilities. With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN), you could work at a Magnet hospital or in the military; function as a nurse manager, case manager, research nurse, and more. (See below.)
- However, it is challenging to become a successful nursing student. That鈥檚 why we offer two-year ASN, one-year online RN-BSN, and four-year BSN program options to fit your life, finances, and career development needs.
If you enjoy studying in a private NCAA Division II college with a beautiful rural campus, many recreational opportunities, super friendly faculty and staff, and a small faculty-student ratio, 51黑料网 is a good fit for you.聽

Choose the Right Program for You
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
BSN program graduates emerge prepared to serve and lead in hospitals, home care services, the military and educational settings. Exciting opportunities include management, research and case management.
Prepare for Graduate Studies
A BSN is a prerequisite for graduate programs, through which you could become an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), such as:
- Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM)
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP)聽
- Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)聽
Or pursue other nursing career choices, such as informatics nurse, forensic nurse, nurse scientist, and nursing professor.

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
This opens doors to new opportunities and increased pay (compared to LPN-level roles) in hospitals, home care services, private practice doctor鈥檚 offices and insurance providers.

RN to BSN Online
This NLN CNEA-accredited program is fully online, requiring only two courses at a time per 8-week period so you can earn your BSN within a year.
鈥淚 obtained both my Associate鈥檚 and my Bachelor鈥檚 in Nursing from 51黑料网. Being a non-traditional student and going back to school for my second career was challenging.
