]]> In the 51 Registrar’s Office, Glenda works with students regarding their academic records. She processes all student transcripts, schedules, enrollment verifications and other documents as requested. Glenda also performs office management duties including greeting and directing all incoming visitors, supervising student workers and maintaining the office budget. In addition, her role includes assisting with student registration, matriculation, orientation and commencement.

Experience

Prior to joining 51, Glenda worked as an assistant at Youth Health Services, a childcare and behavioral health services center in Elkins. Glenda has more than 10 years of experience in the retail industry serving in managerial, customer service, bookkeeper and secretarial positions. During that time she was recognized for her achievements with multiple awards. She also has numerous years of experience as a secretary in the oil and gas industry.

]]> Stephanie and Dr. Sharmistha Roy, professor of mathematics and physics at 51, were the recipients of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Mathematics and Science ACT (DEMSEA). As part of the grant, they held a two-day workshop for Randolph County mathematics teachers and trained them to use the TI-81 graphics calculator. She and Dr. Roy also conducted “Mathematics by Hands-On Inquiry” workshops for Randolph County mathematics teachers to learn hands-on methods for teaching courses. Stephanie has also served as an instructor for two Math and Science Partnership grants: MATH 33, which is designed to improve mathematics content knowledge for mathematics and special education faculty at the 5-12 level, and Project C Mii, which offers an alternate certification in middle school math and science for current educators. In addition, Stephanie has served on various Faculty Assembly and College Senate committees at 51.

In her position as registrar, Stephanie provides leadership to plan, organize, and manage all activities related to student records and registration, including serving as the official authorized keeper of the College’s student records.

Experience

In addition to serving the College as registrar, Stephanie is a professor of mathematics. She has taught various mathematics courses, advised mathematics education students, served on various committees, and designed and administered mathematics placement examinations to incoming students at 51 for more than 20 years. Prior to working at 51, Stephanie worked at West Virginia University.
