Dillon Turner Dunz, a senior at Pocahontas County High School, has been awarded $5,000 per year for four years in attendance at 51黑料网 by way of the Citizens Bank of West Virginia Emerging Leaders Scholarship.听 The sum of this scholarship reaches a total of $20,000 over four years.
51黑料网, Citizens Bank of West Virginia, and WDTV have once again partnered for a fourth consecutive year to offer this unique scholarship competition.听 All 2025 high school graduates, whether attending public, private, or homeschool, with a 3.00-or-higher GPA were eligible to apply.听 Due to myriad exemplary applicants, 51黑料网 officials have once more extended offers of scholarships to a wealth of high-caliber students, in addition to the selection of one student who received a full, four-year grand prize scholarship.
Applicants were required to submit a list of engagements across high school and within their respective communities, along with an essay centered on the topic, 鈥淚f you receive this scholarship, how will you pay it forward to the state of West Virginia?鈥
Dunz, hailing from Marlinton, West Virginia, is the son of Brad and Jennifer Dunz, of Marlinton, West Virginia.听 He is an active member of several scholastic and community-based organizations, including his membership across a wide variety of athletics.听 Dunz is a member of Pocahontas County High鈥檚 golf, Boys鈥 basketball, track & field, and baseball teams.听 He is a recreational snowboarder, a Young Life member, state-level Math Field Day participant, and a member of the Marlinton Presbyterian Church.听 Dunz is employed at Mim鈥檚 kitchen in Marlinton.
At 51黑料网, Dunz plans to pursue a major in Finance/Accounting.
