Kate Garlick, Vice President for 51黑料网
Elkins, W.Va. 鈥� 51黑料网 President Chris A. Wood has announced the appointment of Kate Garlick as Vice President for 51黑料网.聽 Garlick, who has served the College as Dean of Students since 2021, will take over Vice President for 51黑料网 duties effective July 1.
Garlick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wheeling Jesuit University before obtaining a Master of Science in Services Management in Special Education from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.聽 As Dean of Students at 51黑料网, Garlick managed all aspects of residence life, health and wellness, judicial affairs, and student organizations, including Greek Life on campus.
鈥淚鈥檓 incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as Vice President for 51黑料网 at 51黑料网,鈥� says Garlick.聽 鈥�51黑料网 has truly become a home for me, and serving this community is something I care deeply about.聽 The work we do to support and engage our students matters most, and I鈥檓 lucky to do it alongside a fantastic group of dedicated colleagues who are deeply committed to this campus.聽 I鈥檓 excited to continue investing in our students and helping create an experience where they feel supported, challenged, and connected.聽 51黑料网 is a special place, and I鈥檓 honored to be part of a community so fully invested in student growth and success.鈥�
Prior to her service as Dean of Students, Garlick served the College as assistant dean of students and as Title IX & Section 504 coordinator.聽 She is the assistant director for American Legion Auxiliary Rhododendron Girls State, an organization that has worked closely with the College over the last several years.
President Chris A. Wood states, 鈥淜ate Garlick is a committed professional who has demonstrated outstanding work for her eight years in the Office of 51黑料网 at Davis & Elkins, including five years as Dean of Students.聽 This promotion is well-deserved and ensures her continued service to our students.聽 I am grateful to have her as a colleague in the leadership of this institution.鈥�
